Comes The Dawn
After a while, you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that loving doesn’t mean leaning
And company isn’t security.
(Kisses aren’t contracts and presents aren’t promises.)
After a while you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open,
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain
And the inevitable has a way of crumbling in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns
If you stand too long in one place.
So, you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting for someone else to bring you flowers.
And you learn you really can endure,
That you really do have worth.
You learn that with every good-bye comes the dawn.

*Gasp* She speaks! Welcome back.
Hope all is well and the dawn brings with it good things for you. . .:)
Hear Hear! Speak on!
It has been so eloquently put. I'm going to get my English Dictionary out and practice walking with my head up. As for eyes open wide, that would beat the purpose of walking full speed into a wall....!
Sweet words there thats soo lovely..
Had to see for myself the return of the Mrs. :) I guess all my nagging worked( see how I cleverly gave myself credit for your return). Can't wait to see you...yay!
Wisdom here

Judith
Judith Evans didn't write that poem. It's pretty famous and was written by a woman named Virginia Shoffstall.
Actually the author named above claimed it as her own but later removed it from her book because she did not actually write it...Judith did write this poem.
This poem appeared in my room as a tennager, Author Unknown and I have held on to it ever since, framed and on my wall. It touched me then and continues to now. Everytime I need some inspiration i read it and it literally brings tears to my eyes. This version posted here, is the original? It is a bit different as to what I have but touching non the less. I had just recently felt the need to research the origin of this great peice as I truly feel the "unknown Author" in my mind, deserves to know what a difference their thoughts put into those words made in my life... So Thank you!
